First Congress of Dental Medicine Students in Mostar – MOSCON 2025
Abstract
On March 21 and 22, 2025, Mostar hosted the First Congress of Dental Medicine Students – MOSCON, which took place on the premises of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Mostar. This academic event brought together numerous students, professors, and experts in the field of dental medicine, with the aim of promoting scientific excellence and exchanging professional experiences, as well as encouraging the professional development of future doctors of dental medicine.
The congress was organized by students of the dental medicine program at the University of Mostar, who designed an exceptionally rich and diverse schedule. Participants were offered expert lectures by renowned speakers, interactive workshops, and panel discussions focused on current issues in modern dental practice.
The thematic framework of the congress covered areas such as endodontics, periodontology, surgery, orthodontics, implantology, aesthetic dentistry, and the integration of digital technologies into daily clinical practice. Special attention was given to the challenges faced by young doctors of dental medicine after graduation, including choosing a specialization, opening a private practice, and the importance of lifelong education and professional development.
In addition to the theoretical component, the congress enabled students to actively participate by presenting their own research and engaging in hands-on work through specialized workshops. This approach further contributed to the development of competencies and encouraged professional networking among the participants.
The first MOSCON proved to be an exceptionally successful scientific and professional event that fully achieved its purpose – the affirmation of knowledge, professional collaboration, and connecting future dental professionals in the region.
